Question I see Ciener has a .22 AK conversion

However the web site says it's a special order item and takes 6 months to make -- before I commit, has anyone ever used one? I have a Marvel conversion kit for my .45 and I use it for my weekly practice - I like having the same trigger, grip and holsters but shooting cheap ammo, and I take my son along -- he has a blast. I'd like to do the same with my AK.

doing business with ciener

Beware of this company! ! I have had an AK conversion on order since 3-19-07 (pre-paid) and had to write him to get an acknowledgement of my order. They WILL NOT communicate with you by phone, they have no e-mail address, and will not give
you any prediction of shipping dates. He only states that he is sorry for the back order. I cancelled my order effective Sept 15 and requested a refund. NO ANSWER YET. BEWARE!

I see your point...
I am looking at his Big Ad in Gun Digest the magazine...
It does not show a web-site...
The Phone # is: 321-868-2200
It does say...Due to Fluctuating Demand (???)---the unit may require 60-90 days for delivery. (!!!)
It also says that there is a 25 % Cancellation Fee. (!!!)
If I had ordered and PAID 10 Months ago...I would be P.O'ed Too !!!
What about calling Gun Digest(715-445-2214)and asking them if You are The First Guy to Have A Problem !?!?

I bought a Ceiner 1911 conversion earlier this year, and it broke after a few hundred rounds. There was no phone numbers or any contact information that I could find, ANYWHERE. I went to my smith and he had a big book of numbers, and his was in it.

I called.

Answering machine said: "Don't leave a message because I won't call you back.", among some other random BS.

I will proudly assist in putting Ceiners reputation in the dirt whenever possible.

Junked the conversion and bought a Marvel, haven't looked back.

That's too bad because I wish someone would make a decent AK conversion or better yet a decent AK rifle in .22LR.

Hangfire, GSG makes a little AK .22LR

I had one of their GSG5's at one time- fun little plinking rifle.

Yeah, to me the GSG rifle isn't even close to a real AK. I never have liked them. I think they feel and look like crap. My airsoft AK looks and feels more realistic. I have a dedicated AR .22, and a SIG 522. Both are outstanding rifles and put the GSG to shame as far as being realistic training aids. I've seen a Saiga in .22 in pictures and wish they would import them or perhaps the wasr .22's being more available again.
