Best Off Hand Range Day Ever For Me...Pic

OK, maybe I get overly excited about this. But off hand is the game I am trying to elevate. Working on it with the Ruger 10/22 before I waste more ammo with the M1A.

Here is today's best target. Many were close. Shot 15 ten round groups. 6 were with tripod. 9 were standing off hand. All were 50 yard range.

Don't laugh. I am almost in the geezer class. Maybe I just keep trying to turn the clock back or something.

And oh by the way, there was a family out there for Mothers Day. Mom, Dad, two daughters and a son.
The family that shoots together...HAS FUN!!!

Scope or irons? Most of us are geezers in one way or another regardless of age!

One of the girls was about 6. Her older brother would load up this old Sevens semi auto 22 they had and hold her arms as she held the rifle. She hit a steel flipper target three times at 15 yards. And that was shooting "from the hip" as she could not raise the rifle to get a sight picture. But she was soooooo elated!

All was safe on account of big bro, about 15, wrapping around her. All had eye and ear protection and kept good muzzle discipline.

The other girl, about 16, shot the 38 revolver, the 9mm pistol, Ruger Mk II and the two rifles. Yep. They all had fun.

This wasn't my family. Just some nice folks I met in the forest today.

My Ruger 10/22 has a scope. To shoot off hand I have it dialed all the way down to 3. Giving serious thought to ditching the scope and installing some Tech aperture sights that have a look alike sight pic to the M1A with irons.

I am sure I can do better with the irons.

Remember, optics magnify the image, but also magnify the wobbles.
