I just bought a Weaver 3-10x40mm "Tactical Grand Slam" from MidwayUSA, for $300. The scope's exclusive to them, and has a mildot reticle and 1/10th mil target turrets that are resettable to zero. The optics are pretty decent but nothing really spectacular; I'd say about like a Nikon Prostaff or thereabouts.
Heading out to zero it on a Ruger 77/22M. Will update later.
OK, just got back from zeroing. I was able to compare it directly to my friends' Nikon Buckmaster, and I would rate the optics in the Weaver as slightly better. The tracking in the turrets was dead-on, and I had the rifle zeroed in 3 rds. Since the scope is intended for CF rifles and thus has a parallax setting of 100yds, at 25yds, the highest magnification that will be in focus is about 5x, so this scope isn't really suited for precision target shooting with a rimfire. For hunting/plinking though, it'll be fine. The only problem, and it's not really much of a problem, is that once zeroed, the marks on the elevation turret didn't line up exactly with the index mark on the body.
Overall, it's a pretty damn good scope for $300, and I think the 10/22's gonna get one, as will the M1A.
