1965 M80 Ball, Mexican Match with 150 SMKs. Nothing special, just push/pull the 147s and sub the 150s. This was run for the Navy, note that they came in stuffed in M1 Enblocs and bandoleers.

I'm using this load for all my 7.62x51 events, probably a little hot but my rifle likes it... and I confuse easy - K.I.S.S. is my motto

That's a nice performance against some strong competition, Nez. Good luck with the rest of your matches.

Next year I will stay longer just to shoot the M1a match. Anyone know the format of the match? All I heard was that it was shot at 300, but that's vague.

Standing at 300? That would definitely be different.

After an okay SFP in the Springfield M1A match it was all downhill. My RFP had a great group and I did it in about 25 secs, but was 2 moa high (stupid... but fun) Standing, I was happy to keep'em on the backer .

I still manged to score higher than a few ranked shooters. Me thinks the M1A was probably not their usual weapon of choice.

This trip I got to shoot with Bamban... the man is a MACHINE with a M14/M1A an educational experience. He was very generous with his time, knowledge, and a real gentleman.

Springfield M1A Match

We had two M14s shooting this year.

Congratulations to W. McCraw and D. Ficklin (a member here) who finished 11th and 37th respectively. (Corrected, they shot 5th and 31st) Both were shooting rifles built by our shop.

Maybe next year I'll have the time to actually shoot.

Good score Nez!

I shot 4th relay. The humidity kicked my ass. When it was time for offhand I was mentally & physically toast. Started with a 5, a miss, & a 7 ....I regrouped and the rest was good. Even though I was well hydrated the heat got to me. I had the shakes bad.

My goal was a 460. Not even close with a 443. 191/88/91/73

Thanks from XXIV Corps
