The Quantico Shooting Club, Service Members and others volunteering their own personal time, and the Remembering the Brave Foundation are proud to announce the First Annual

~REMEMBERING THE BRAVE~
EASTERN ARMED FORCES MEMORIAL MATCH
MAY 28 - 30, 2010
HELD AT QUANTICO ON THE MARINE BASE

Introduction

In 2009, following the Marine Corps Rifle Team’s participation in the second annual Armed Forces Memorial Match in Byer’s Colorado a number of Marines decided to volunteer their personal time in the development of a similar match to be held on the East Coast. They collaborated with the Remembering the Brave Foundation, the Quantico Shooting Club, M1s for Vets, the NRA, and a number of other wonderful organizations to develop a plan that will rapidly make this one of the most popular matches in the country. I am certain this year’s match will be one of the most memorable matches you will ever fire as we make a commitment to annually remember 14 American heroes. Each year the program will honor the memories of 14 military service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country and for the ideals of freedom and justice around the world. The magnificent trophies will bear the names and images of the service members honored each year and the winners of each match will be permanently engraved on the trophies. This match is a Registered Match with the NRA who has graciously waived their standard fees. Registrations and Match fees are indicated in the match bulletin listed on the following website. Team Match fees will be made at the match.

Dear Friends,

The people who have decided to bring this match to you are all volunteers. They are great Americans who desire to do their part in making sure our fallen warriors are never forgotten. Instead they have decided to make sure others know their names and their stories. For this reason and so that we can continue to do our part in paying these champions of freedom back for the priceless gift they have given to us and others around the world, we have elected to create the Armed Forces Memorial Match series of tournaments around the country. This one is the Eastern Armed Forces Memorial Match.

This match will have a spread of competitors from first time shooters to amateurs, our military teams, Special Forces and our oldest veteran high masters and perhaps a number of our wounded warriors coming out to fire for their friend’s trophies. Most importantly, we will have some of America’s Gold Star families there to watch us all compete for their loved one’s trophies and so they can witness our purposeful event built to not only enable the Remembering the Brave Foundation in forwarding its mission but so we can continue to show them that their heroes are our heroes and that we will forever remember them. We will share our hero’s stories, we will learn about whom they were and what they did for us all and we will remain committed year after year to standing together on the firing line in Quantico Virginia to Remember the Brave. This match is the beginning of something wonderful.

Expect to hear more about the heroes we will be honoring at this first match as we get closer. Send your email address to beck@rememberingthebrave.org to register for updates for the match. If you would like to help with the match in any way, please contact Steve Beck at beck@rememberingthebrave.org. Thank you all, God bless you all and we look forward to seeing you at the match!

Semper Fidelis,

Stephen R. Beck, Jr.

RTB was here in Colorado at CRC just a few weeks ago, hands down the best match I shoot all year long. I shoot a lot of matches during each year, including the Nationals at Camp Perry. If I could only shoot one match it would be the RTB, not for the shooting but just to listen to Gold Star familys.
