| Les Tam Slings
Hey guys,
I just wanted to give Leslie Tam a plug for his Service Rifle slings. On the advice of a fellow HP shooter, I ordered a Les Tam sling about 6 months ago. I just received mine in the mail today, and it's a thing of beauty. Outstanding craftsmanship, top quality leather, and just a great feeling piece of workmanship. If anyone's in the market for a sling, he comes highly recommended.
You can check out his website at: http://www.lestam.com/
If you're interested, just send him an e-mail with your number. He'll call you and discuss the ins and outs of your particular sling. Truly a custom job. Can't wait to try it out this weekend.

I've had one for so long I don't even remember how old it is. At least 15 years. Still works great.

I wanted to get a new leather sling for a M1A I had picked up, but didn't want to wait for a Les Tam sling. I have a Turner, but wanted something better. I ended up with a John Weller sling at www.slingsbyjhw.com
After talking with him, I decided which sling to order. Only took a couple of weeks to receive. Tightens up really nice, with large keepers. I use it on one of my rifles I use for matches. I use a web sling in the off-hand and sitting position, then change it for the John Weller sling in the prone. It works for me.

I am going to order one of his cuff type match slings for my target AR in the near future.
On another note after reading this post, I called Les last night. I had a M14 match sling on order since the middle of august which was due to be delivered in January and I ordered two more. Figure I need an excuse to build rifles for the number of slings I have. LOL SO now three more will be delivered in January. Thanks for talking me into it gents!!!! |

They are so well built that I actually bought mine from a former Match shooter and put it on my M1A. It is still in perfect condition.

Bought 3 so far from him at his booth at Perry. He is great to deal with and has fitted new keepers to my older sling that he didn't make. He builds his slings with great leather and just as big and thick as is legal. Keepers are made very tight and do not slip.
