SRG John , I guess I didn't really answer you question. The M1A match is really a shoot what you have as far as the M14/ M1A platform goes. A Socom to a full blown super match is legal . 4 1/2 # trigger and open sights and to win anything more than a tee shirt you have to be shooting a Springfield if you shoot good enough, I like tee shirts
.Their match,their rules .The Modern Military Match has to be a service grade rifle with no accuracy enhancing improvements and has to weigh 10# or less. Somewhat following the as issued matches. In the last 5 years or so my Standard has evolved into a NM rifle save a NM barrel and op rod guide. Which I almost had done last fall. I had all the parts to turn it back but had to find a Garand rear sight base to turn it back into a service rifle,must have put it somewhere I knew I wouldn't loose it. Oh. Nice CJ5 , Lifter
