20 Dot Hot Shot Challenge

RULES

1. If you attempt this challenge, you must post an entry regardless of how well you do. This will document how challenging this contest truly is. Once you start a 20 shot string, you must finish it and post the results in this thread.

2. Multiple entries for the same shooter/rifle are allowed, but each 20 shot attempt should have a photo of the target used for that attempt.

3. Contestants shall use any semi-automatic 30 caliber rifle. The gas system must be fully operational when firing for score.

4. Contestants shall use a single target with at least 20 individual 1 or 2 inch pasters or dots/circles either affixed or printed on it (see the attached PDF).

5. Shots taken at 100 yards shall use a target with 1 inch dots, shots taken at 200 yards will use 2 inch dots. All shooting positions or bench rest sleds are eligible.

6. Each entry shall have 20 shots on it. Any shot cutting the Paster/Circle is a hit. All sighting shots shall be taken on a different target. Score shall include total hit count and largest number of hits in a row. Example. a score of 16-11 represents 16 total hits out of 20 and a string of 11 hits in a row. The hits in a row value will act as a tie breaker in the event of identical hit counts. As a final tie breaker...the target with the latest first miss wins.

7. Each entry shall include the following.

- Date target was fired
- Score (e.g. 15-9 means 15 hits with 9 hits in row)
- Rifle Make/Model/Configuration
- Ammunition used or Load Data for hand loads.
- Photo of the target for this attempt.
* An updated copy of the Leader Board with your score added in the proper place.

8. This match will be an ongoing challenge with no announced end date.

Good Luck and have fun gentlemen.

Range Report 06/25/16

Went out to do some more shooting today and try the new '20 dot'.
Last three times out have been having feeding/short stroking issues with my rifle since I installed a Sadlak grooved piston. Today decided it is light load/soft shoulder related. Only occurred with my load of 39.5gr of H4895 w/175 Sierras today. 40.0gr/H4895/175 perfect and accurate. 41gr seemed to work well too but used a different bullet.

Could we please keep load development and other off topic posts out of this competition thread. I'm definitely interested in how your loads are progressing, but this thread really isn't the place for them. Please don't think I am trying to be a post Nazi, but it makes it more difficult to follow competition itself when there are other photos and posts that have nothing to do with the competition itself to wade through.

Thanks from nf1e, XUSNORDIE and JEFFJP_N_JJ

Thanks, just let me know; wish there was a reloading thread here...

Don't forget to include an updated copy of the leaderboard so that the next entry can simply copy it from the previous entry. This match is going to run for a long time and posts get locked after 30 days so I can't keep editing the existing leader board so it's best if we just include it with every entry. Thanks

Thanks from JEFFJP_N_JJ
