Who is planning on going to Perry this year? I'll be one of the Marine armorers up there.

Glad to hear you are an armorer supporting the Nationals. Do you guys have any parts to repair any broken down 14s on the line?

We aren't shooting any 14s this year. The only parts we are maintaining are for the M16s.

One of my Patrol Sergeants goes every year with the Marine Reserve Pistol team. Every time he finds a good deal on Vendor's row, it costs me money.
I had the pleasure of meeting a former Marine Armorer a few weeks back through him. Don Leonard who showed me some of his outstanding work.

I'll be there shooting my 14, Garand, and 03A3 no little black rifle for me.
I know I'll see some of the M14 forum guys there, always do. We should all get together one night and have a drink? What's the name of that place with the M14 hanging over the bar. Nick's Road house in Port Clinton I believe... somebody pick a night during HP week.

I'll be there God willing. I made the leg cut last year. I need to do it again.
I'm sure you will go to Butner for the Eastern Games too. Tell Joe Kennedy, and Jim Otto I said hello.

I'm going again if nothing gets in the way. I already got my calender marked for both the Eastern Games and Camp Perry Nationals. They (Dennis Demille) changed the program around for the Eastern Games this year so it looks like it'll flow better.
I legged out last year at Perry (which is awesome and the best way to finish your points) so I'll be chasing the P100 and other Daniel Boone metals. I may switch to the M14 for P100 and NTI to change things up a bit. I just need to hone down and practice more with the Match M14. Then after the M14 its the M1 Garand...
NRA had the national defense match last year with M4 & AR-15 carbines BUT it was invitational only but seemed to have had a big turn out. I'd like to shoot NRA week BUT its really expensive, no real prizes to win, ultra intra political & nepotistic, and only appeals to older shooters that started shooting in the 1970's. They really need to change things up a lot more to appeal to new shooters that are coming back from Iraq & Afghanistan.
These practical shooter (the new guys in shooting sports) are really starting to turn grandpa's rickety-rack rifle range into a really nice shooting place. The old gang is definitely threatened by them. I hope the NRA stooges that run the competitive shooting board take note and start sanctioning some of practical matches or something like that. These guys need to encourages rather then discourages to bad mouthed. We must all work together to save shooting sports in general, whether that means sacrifice or not.

I'll be shooting the mousegun in the P100 and NTI, the 14, M1, 03A3, and Persian Mauser later that week. Camp Perry in August = The Happiest Place in the World!
