Is there anyone on the board who knows about the Regional Match and LEG match in Puerto Rico in January? Better yet is there anyone here from Puerto Rico who shoots high power?

The problem with travelling by air to matches with the M14 is the ammo. Most airlines there is a limit on the weight, typically it is 11 pounds. A hundred of 155s slugs run about 2.22 pounds already.

Maybe I can hook up with the locals and buy components there and reload the short line ammo before the matches.

I shot there several times with the TXARNG in the 80s. We flew in on a C130, so weight was no problem. Be prepared for frustration, as in: first shot downrange about noon or so, PR soldiers being asked their scores when they didn't even shoot, indifferent safety rules and enforcement. However, they do put on a good feed. Reloading is frowned upon there, and components simply don't exist. Wish I could go with you. dave

I flew down to AZ for the State palma match, and I recall I was well short on ammo with what I was allowed to fly with. So, I ended up shipping some ammo down there ahead of time.

I would try to get a hold of someone in their state association (okay, territory rifle and pistol association). Ask them for somebody to ship to. Match director?
