July 31, 2011 Ft. Bliss R&G, John C. Garand Match

0800 Registration. Shooting begins at 0900
Location:
Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club-High Power Rifle Range #2
Entry fee:
Adults: $25.00; Junior shooters: $12.50
Rifles:
AS ISSUED: U.S. Rifle, caliber.30, M1903 and M1903A3 Springfield; U.S. Rifle, caliber.30, M1917 Enfield; U.S. Rifle, caliber .30, M1 Garand; Rifle, Caliber .30, M1941 Johnson; and U.S. Carbine, caliber .30, M1(or a commercially manufactured rifle of the same type and caliber, having not less than a 4.5-pound trigger pull, with standard stock and leather or web sling).
Note:
Rifles may be accurized ONLY by the careful assembly of standard Parts. "National Match" parts may not be used in the as-issued rifle. No glass bedding or the use of synthetic or laminated stocks is permitted. A new rule allows accurized rifles and those in 7.62mm to be fired in an Unlimited Class.
Rules:
Match will be conducted in accordance with all Civilian Marksmanship rules and regulations. Caliber .30 M2 Ball or caliber .30 Carbine ammunition will be furnished. You may keep the brass.
Target:
Reduced 200 Yard SR-1 Target Will Be Used For All 100-Yard Stages.
COURSE OF FIRE
Sighting:
A Maximum Of 5 Sighting Shots May Be Taken Prior To Stage 1.
Stage 1:
100 Yards, Slow Fire Prone, 20 Record Shots In 25 Minutes
Stage 2:
100 Yards, Rapid Fire, Standing To Prone, 10 Shots In 70 Seconds
Stage 3:
100 Yards, Rapid Fire, Standing To Sitting, 10 Shots In 60 Seconds
Stage 4:
100 Yards, Standing, 10 Shots in 10 Minutes.
Awards: Stage I Through 4 – Ribbons. Aggregate of Stages I Through 5 -- plaques.
Participation in this match will entitle you to purchase an M1 Garand rifle from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Competitors must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate in the CMP M1 Sales Program. Competitors who elect to take advantage of this offer as a result of this competition must complete and submit a M1 Sales Packet and include the original copy of the Certificate of Competition.
Although a competitor must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a rifle from the CMP, any competitor 16 years of age or older and a citizen of the United States may enter this match.
You will be eligible to purchase caliber .30 M2 Ball ammunition and/or caliber .30 Carbine ammunition from the Civilian Marksmanship Program by virtue of your membership in the Franklin Mountain Gun Club. Membership dues are $20.00 per year. Membership also entitles you to additional Civilian Marksmanship Program purchases of shooting supplies, gun parts, and lottery drawings for rare and obsolete military rifles. You do not have to be a club member to shoot in this match.
