I have two heel stamped Poly Tech M-14/S rifles 0057X and 0098X both were bought used in the past ten years.

I didn't have the sense to mortgage my house and use the money to fill my garage up with them when they were both far cheaper and very abundant at the gun shows and on dealers shelves.

Yes, if you provide the importer marking and the "lotto numbers" stamped on the left side of the receiver under the stock line.

My latest M-14/S serial number 0057X has the following stamped on the left side of the receiver below the stock line...

88 01 21 so I take this to mean the rifle was made January 21, 1988 or at least that was when the receiver was forged at the foundry....

It's January 1988 for that receiver. After about the first 2000 Chinese M14 rifles imported into the United States, the "lotto number" format changed. You can still decipher the meaning but you have to understand how the numbering was arranged. I should do a You Tube video to explain the secret Chinese M14 lotto code. Glenn Beck, watch out!

That is kinda what we were figuring. It's the last three numbers that I'm really curious about now. Any clue what they stand for? Mine has a slash between two of them.

I see from your other post that the lotto numbers are 10 34 21 4. These markings were hand stamped. Your receiver was made in October 1990. Again, after the first 2000 receivers the numbering format doesn't make sense unless you see many lotto numbers lined up in a spreadsheet. The numbering format is not arranged the same way throughtout Chinese production.

No date, just year and month is derived from the lotto numbers. Your receiver was made in March 1993.

Amazing! I never would have been able to decipher that date! Someday when you have time you have to let me in on the secret (chuckle)
