Mark, do you mind sharing the receiver serial number via PM? Your owner information will be deleted and it goes no further.

Care to help out a newb? Although the first digit is unclear, the lotto looks like 0 8 16 25 (could be 8 8 16 25). This is on a Poly 014xx.

Does the barrel have a "K F S" marking?

Thanks, the "lotto" numbers should be 8 8 16 25. The receiver was manufactured in 1988.

Thank you. Interesting that the receiver is that old, as the rifle was bought new from CAI in '94.

That's not unusual. Based on reports from other original owners of imported Chinese M14 rifles, there was often a long period of time between the receiver manufacture and the original retail sale. Century Arms International imported Chinese M14 rifles into Canada. At its Montreal facility, the Chinese M14 rifles were modified to comply with the November 1990 ban on importing evil features. From there, they were shipped to distributors in the United States.

Finally got a Polytech today...

Receiver lotto number: 8 8 20 49
Serial Number: 01566
Importer: KFS

The throat and muzzle gauge from a 0 to 1 and the trigger group needs to be shimmed. Other than that it is a nice looking rifle.

Thanks Different!
