Mine is 171XX Marked M21 ... 12/03 sold as "barreled receiver?" Barrel was factory fitted? Wonder what make and manufacturer of barrel they used?

Armscorp SNs

Was there a significance of the change in serial numbers beginning with A00 around 1992?

Armscorp Serial #

I have serial #16923 built with all GI.
H&R barrel, H&R trigger group /TRW hammer, GI SA Bolt and op rod
And it shoots better than my NM SAI.

Still hoping to get a reply since it is not marked NM21 but simply M21 and I'm still not understanding the "barreled receiver bit" unless my builder bought it with this Kreiger already fitted perhaps?

I have 1550x, Baltimore, m21 marked. I bought it a couple of years ago as a complete gi parts gun, mostly HR parts, sweet trigger. Don't know any history except it in a police department for awhile. Is there any idea how many were marked m14 vs nm vs m21? Was the m21 just to beat the beaurocrats?

Falcon,,Armscorp never marked their receivers NM21.They marked them EITHER NM or M21. And to boot,,the reason for marking them was just to skirt around the AWB for states like NY and NJ. It was a no no to own the specified M14 types, but was okie dokie if marked M21 or NM. Yeah,,same rifles but the marking made a difference.

Thanks from Airborne Falcon

Here are the 2 I have, the first is built into a service-grade M14, the other is still a bare receiver with the parts waiting for an install. The second receiver came from James River after Armscorp went out, but is still marked Armscorp on the side, not James River. Surprised he would do it but I wanted them both marked the same, now I don't think it would have made any difference.

Armscorp

Have 17646. Purchased as receiver only in 2011, from FFL. Now an all SA service grade rifle, in a magpul Archangel stock. Shoots better than I, just love it. 1000m

Gotcha, okay, I guess that makes sense, sort of. I will dig it out of the safe and take pictures of it again just to be sure. Thought I already had some ... wait, just thought about something, here we go, I knew I had uploaded it somewhere.

Interesting about the "NM" mine just says 7.62 MM M-14
Closest one I can find posted is
A005039 08/90 delivered to FFL sold as a receiver
Mines 175 units higher appears to be USGI parts in a very early wood stock with wood top handguard thats very retro early 60's issue looking
