Almost eighteen pounds, I can feel my arms being pulled from their sockets!

A rig like that will be relegated to bench duty only.

Very nice rifle but with a very limited role.

The same action in a Hueygunner carbon graphite Kevlar stock with Bradley cheek rest, uncle mikes sling and a full 5 round magazine, was around 12.5 pounds. The savage pictured above was around 10.5 pounds.

Tony.

LRB M14 SA with standard weight criterion chrome lined barrel, SEI gas lock front sight, SEI Vortex Flash Suppressor direct thread, and SAI "synthetic" stock w/ GI buttplate, SAI handguard: 8 pounds 4.25 oz

SEI Pre-86 select fire conversion with McMillan MFS-14 fiberglass bedded folding stock, standard weight barrel, Shot-shock recoil absorbing buffer tube, VLTOR e-mod collapsible buttstock with battery compartments filled with lead fishing weights, Ultimak Railed handguard, Harris Bipod, SEI USCG muzzle brake, Magpul VFG, Aimpoint red-dot sight: 13 pounds 13.5 oz

LRB "Super Match" built by ted brown, M14SA rear lug receiver, Krieger Heavy Barrel, McMillan M1A fiberglass bedded stock, unitized gas cylinder, reamed flash suppressor, national match sights, USGI handguard cerakoted black, old style High-power legal: 12 pounds 8.75 oz

Not the most accurate scale in the world, but probably close enough +/- 4 oz.

Thanks from tonyben

Vltor with 2 different butt stocks:

SAI medium weight walnut stocks, Here are 3 different ones, all without the stock liner.

Here is a pic of the lightest of the 3 walnuts with the stock liner. Interestingly this stock is lighter then the AG composites carbon fiber and it's a medium weight. It's only about 2 ounces heavier with the liner.

One thing I noticed reading through this thread is that some of the weights folks have posted are in decimal pounds and some in pounds ounces, for instance:

5.5 pounds (5-1/2) is 5 pounds 8 ounces.
