Springfield M1A Rhodesian Run?

I got a great deal on a used M1A last weekend. Seller told me it was a rhodesian run from the early 90's. I really didn't care since the rifle was so cheaply priced. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about it or if the seller was saying that as a sales pitch.

Sounds interesting. Never heard of it. I am sure there will be someone to give you some information. Is it SAI? I guess it has to be because you said M1A. This thread should bring folks out of the woodwork.

Not made there...just a rhodesian cammied stock set. Has a adjustable cheek rest and recoil pad made into the stock in place of where the flip up buttplate would be. Heres a pic

The rifle is a SAI...SAK barrel all TRW internals. Funny the seller mentioned that it was a "hodge podge" of USGI parts as if it was a bad thing.

Looks like a factory SAI woodland camo stock back in the day. Sounds like somebody decided it looked Rhodesian and called it that. Funny how things get started.
