Hello,
Can anybody help with choosing some scope rings for my Scout. I have a ARMS #18 mount and a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42 scope. I would like to use see thru rings because the iron sight are so great. Can anybody give me any ideas on what rings to by? I just worry about the scope being too high.
THX, rino

Don't bother with see through rings. I use quality rings that I can take off and remount and have it return to zero. Mine are Nightforce Ultralights and I just bring a torque wrench with me. You can try quality quick release rings too. The keyword here being QUALITY, don't skimp on the rings.

I use arms QR rings on a Sadlak Airborne mount. I can qr the scope and the Sadlak mount is see through. Then I just have to snap off the comb riser and I can use the irons. For my purposes any rifle that has an optic needs to be able to go to irons fairly easily should the primary optic go down for some reason. That's just me tho.

I used ARMS #22 low rings on mine.

The scope's a MidwayUSA exclusive Weaver 3-10x40mm mildot, btw. Anything with a larger objective than about 42mm would require at least the #22M rings.

Just remembered...the Nikon has a pretty large eyebell, so you'd probably need the medium-height rings anyway to clear the rear sight body.
