How to: Multicam stocks

I've noticed some really nice custom stocks done on here and decided to research on how to paint one up myself. After finding some great resources I felt like sharing them.

Basic but gets the point across.

Well detailed article on how to do a Multicam paint job with Duracoat

The first link's finished project.

Another Duracoat multicam tutorial, warning they make one in pink.

The second link's finished projects.

Well done rattlecan tutorial

The third link's finished project.

Another Duracoat Multicam, this one includes a good color swatch (pictured above). This one is more about how it works than how to do the pattern

Some good stencil designs

There example firearm using the stencils they sell.

Armory Airbrush will do the work for you

Example of Armory Airbrush's work.
I'm actually looking at getting a synthetic stock to do this with personally.

Last but not least Multicam gear for the "Range Rangers" out there.

Thanks from tonyben, Hamstrosity and nately

Wow great stuff, I am thinking about doing a McMillan stock I have for my M1A thanks for posting this info up. I am thinking about using Brownells Aluma-Hyde II it's supposed to hold up real good.

Does airbrushed camos, not familiar with their costs but looking at customer shots they do some good work. They're also recommended by the author of one of those threads as the owner of the company was willing to help him out with any questions.

The "Multi-Color" pattern they have done before.

How about the A-TACs pattern? For those unfamiliar with A-TACs it seems like a very lightly digitalized multi-camesque pattern.
Most of the tutorials I've found are close but not 100%. Most seem to hit the full firearms with a flat tan/khaki and slight light brown accents for a base. Then they take the same colors as the Multi-cam but apply with a light sponging.
More of a set of finished project but they have a link to the video tutorial
Unfortunately, my internet is not agreeing so I can't get the full video to play with our slow internet.

The finished project from above Vs...

The real deal camo.

Another nice Tutorial I just found
It's not based on either pattern but still nice looking, effective, and rather easy.

Finished product from above.

Some of those guys are smoking crack, 10 weeks to paint a freakn' gun!!!!! Try 20 minutes and another 2 hours or so on prep and dry time.

Also I would recommend Aervoe paint, DSG does not have a Multicam kit but does have MARPAT kits with stencils.

Yea 10 weeks is pretty damn long. I'm used to refinishing firearms with oil finishes so I'm used to spending months to get a good glossy finish. How is that Aervoe paint? $88 seems to be a bit pricey for me but different strokes for different folks. I'm more of a fan of the DIY with minimal kit use but like I said, I'm sure there's people on the forum that could use this.
Thanks for sharing.
