Hope I am posting in the right section. So got my brand new shinny M1A Loaded & going to order some cleaning supplies to take good care of her. Anyway been doing a lot of reading and came up with a list of things I need to get started (I want to completely clean before taking her to the range) anything else you guys think I may need here is my list so far, any suggestions or help is much appreciated.

1. Bolt roller greaser
2. Muzzle & rear sight protectors
3. Gas plug drill
4. Piston drill set
5. Chamber cleaning tool
6. BAD T-3 Wrench
7. Lubriplate grease
8. Brownells OTIS elite cleaning kit (kind of overkill but I will use it for all my other guns)
9. Gun scrubber
10. Book (THE M14 COMPLETE ASSEMBLY GUIDE)

1. Bolt roller greaserNot needed. Ask a car mechanic to show you how to 'pack' a wheel bearing.
2. Muzzle & rear sight protectorsGreat idea, but I usually put my shooting glove over the flash hider to protect it and front sight.
3. Gas plug drillA letter 'P' bit and a number '15' bit will do 3 and 4. Get 'long' bits, and put cheap wood or plastic handles on them.
4. Piston drill set
5. Chamber cleaning toolchamber brush for M14 has threaded hole and short shank. M60 MG has non threaded hole and long shank.
6. BAD T-3 Wrench
7. Lubriplate greaseAbsolutely
8. Brownells OTIS elite cleaning kit (kind of overkill but I will use it for all my other guns)Get a rod guide, and use it with the Otis cable to keep the cable from rubbing the muzzle.
9. Gun scrubber
10. Book (THE M14 COMPLETE ASSEMBLY GUIDE)
11. 3/8 inch box wrench(or cleaning rod handle) and gas cylinder wrench for removing/replacing gas plug.
12. Buttstock cleaning kit (Handle, Four sections, Jag, Bore brush, Chamber brush, grease pot. sleeve) Necessary in wilderness, and helps to reduce recoil.
13. 'Ballistol' for steel and wood, and Tung oil for wood.
