Cool New Toy

No Markings on the sides of the Receiver

Heel Reads:

POLY TECH
M-14/S
7.62 NATO
0238x

Underside of Barrel:

MADE IN CHINA CAI ST ALB VT

Gun looks like it was attacked by Diane Fienstine and Chuck Shroomer as front sight nut is tac welded bay lug ground off along with flash hider.

Date of purchase here in MT 11/26/2008 Condition about 70% if you ignore the tac weld and flash hider / bay lug disater. $600 pre- Obama devalued federal reserve notes. Came w/ 50 rounds, and one sorry looking chink mag. GO beat

redhotfill, PM sent. Just a thought, a new CMI spring and a "repark" will get that Chinese magazine looking and working as good as new.

My M14S

I have no knowledge of the rifle's import date or date of manufacturer, I think I'm the 2nd owner, it has a U.S.G.I. flash hider, U.S.G.I. stock, rubber recoil pad, and my gunsmith said it had a lot of internal G.I. parts, but not the bolt--I'd hope a TRW would drop right in on mine! Here's the data, from the bolt-stop side of the receiver:

M14S .308
IDE USA SFLD MICH.
POLYTECH CHINA

then, next to that, at a level in between the last two lines:

101XX

Then, further over, a third 'table':

MADE IN
CHINA

I don't know what the previous owner--who was nice and said he was replacing it with a Springfield--added or didn't add to it. I haven't done anything but have it checked.

Best!
