Hey different I know the books donw but i Just purchased a poly and wanted to chime in:

M-14S .308
IDE USA SFLD MICH
POLYTECH CHINA 1181X MADE IN CHINA

Added more numbers to serial

polytech ss#

I'm new to this forum but I do happen to have a polytech M-14s I bought back in the early 90's on the left side of the reciever it has the following.

M-14s .308

IDE USA SFLD MICH
179xx Made in
Polytech CHINA China

Angry Polytech M-14s

My CLONE M-14 is marked on the left side of reciever.

M-14S .308 MADE IN
CHINA

IDE USA SFLD MICH 16588
POLYTECH CHINA
BELOW THE WOOD LINE ARE THE NUMBERS 3 512 35 7

ELECTRIC PENCILED ON BOTTOM UNDERSIDE OF BOLT IS NO. 04296
ELECTRIC PENCILED ON INSIDE OF OP-ROD. NO. 04296 AND 2-5 > 39
ELECTRIC PENCILED ON TRIGGER GROUP 04296
NO MARKINGS ON BARREL AT ALL.
Rifle had fake flash hidder and cut off bannet lug. (replaced with blued after market.)
Stock was dark chinese wood. Finish on all metal was gray parkerize

here are the markings on the barrel

left side of the receiver

Bought My Poly NIB back in the early 90's.

IDE Mich. S# 1002x

Put over 2,000 rds though Her before I found out the sights were supposed to fall apart as it was removed from the box and it was supposed to blow-up in My face after 50 rds!

She has been flawless since the first rd and is My "Best Girl"
