I thought that I had already entered my third Polytech into the data base but I guess not since I couldn't find it.
It's a NOS side stamped IDE Mich Imports that I discovered in a gun shop a few weeks back now. Serial number 713X.
They were asking $975.00 but I got it for $250.00 cash and a Dan Wesson Pistol Pack as boot. It has yet to be fired but when it warms up I'll sight her in. I've already changed the connector, stock, rear sight and trigger group and added a GI repro OD cotton sling that I picked up at CMP South. I also added one of Hawks dummy selectors to fill in the hole in the USGI walnut stock which added the perfect finishing touch to a fine project.
The dealer where I bought it told me that at one time back before the ban he had 25K Polytechs in his warehouse. He sold them all to one wholesaler for $20.00 per gun profit. I told him I sure wish that you still had that warehouse full of Poytechs. He laughed and told me, not at much as I do. The rifle that I bought was a left over from back in the preban days that he'd discovered in the warehouse. I told him if you run across any more of them, definitely keep me in mind.
