5 Piece Shim Set

The cheapest improvement you can make to help your accuracy.
5 piece shim set, size .003, .005, .007, .010, and .020 these are made out of 18-8 stainless steel, inside dia is .687
These shims work great, fit inside the front band, and are wider than other manufacturers. The added width makes for a shim that won't deform under use.
No other entity offers a 5 piece shim set(others offer either a 3 or 4 piece set), this combination allows the greatest combination of spacers so you get an accurate shimming of your GC.
Combine the shims to make: .003, .005, .007, .008, .010, .012, .013, .015, .017, .018, .020 ect .....

Pictures show how they fit and compare to the thinner width shims.
Price is $14.00 shipped. I will ship them in an envelope, taped to a piece of plastic, through the USPS.
PayPal if it is a gift, normal PayPal you pay the fees, Check will hold till it clears, and USPS Money order.
PayPal account is: jake2far@hotmail.com
The first "I will take it" will get them.

If you purchase these, PLEASE send me your name, ship to address, and forum name.

Hi,
Yes and Yes. I am biased cuz I sell them but in my humble (haha) opinion these are the best shims out there.
When I install them I first set the gas cylinder and front band back against the barrel shoulder using a leather mallet or a block of wood and a hammer.
Install the gas lock and hand tighten it it will probably go past the gas cylinder bore, back off the gas lock and I either use a feeler gauge or the shims as a feeler gauge, find out by trial which thickness sets the gas lock at the 5 oclock position, take the assembly apart and install the shims first, the front band, the gas cylinder, the gas lock, I tap the whole assembly minus the gas lock with the mallet or wood block to seat the parts, install the gas lock, it should get hand tight at the 5 oclock position, turn the lock till it lines up and install the plug.
If the lock doesn't time correctly adjust the shim thickness till it does.
Try your gas lock both ways, find which side allows you to install with one thickness if you can.
Using a small allen wrench verify that your gas port aligns with barrel port. it should be centered as much as possible, using the concept of flipping the gas lock you can move the gas cylinder back or front depending on which side you use and how it line up. The allen wrench can be used to feel the front and back edge of the barrel gas port.

Hope this helps.

Jake2far: I sent you a bank check and PMs with address but haven't heard anything. Do you check PMs? Just wanting to "touch base". Check should have arrived on the 12th, I think.

Thank,
Bob
