I am the other forum member with the one of 100 on the side of receiver. SAI also told me they did not know about the one of 100 on sides of receivers. Mine is 12xxx serial number and it shoots very well. I even have the original paper work with it. HRA TG assembly, and HRA operating rod and Winchester bolt. The only thing I have changed is the barrel. I went to a 18.5 medium weight CL barrel by Criterion and had it ceramic OD green.

SAI also said the same to me. No records of these ever having been stamped like they are, but Different estimates there were only about a hundred marked like this I believe. The exact range of which ones were marked like this is hard to tell. Yours is 12,, mine 16,, so if you take out even thousand guns that would leave 45 possible in this range ( if they were all consistantly marked). It would be good to know who else has one and what serial number range it is in. We could narrow it down better.

It would be nice to how many more are out there. I got a choate folding stock and had it hydro coated fall camo. It looks pretty nice IMO, and it is a little lighter. I can't get picks on my IPAD can send photos with my phone to email if any body wants to see.

Lerenis or oubgdv2, is there a casting pour lot number on the bottom side of your Even Hundred M1A receiver? If so, please post that number. If not, let us know that as well. If there is a casting pour lot number, it should start with the letter "A." That will help date these receivers. There are some other features that can be checked but this is a quick first step.

I did not find the letter "A" on the underside of receiver. The only "A" I see is on the bolt under the bolt serial numbers. SAI did tell me the receiver left their shop 1989. According to the serial number receiver was born 1980,81 if I looked it up correctly.

What is the "A" number on the bolt? That is the material lot number. I track those numbers as well.

Just broke mine down to check for any other markings anywhere on the receiver. No "A" or anything else. Mine was also purchased in 1989, February actually. SAI Customer Service confirms the receiver was made in 1980 or '81. Still makes no sense to pull out even-hundred receivers and keep them around for nine years, before just building them out in '89. The interesting part about the 1 of 100 stamping on the side, is that it wasn't done separately, or at least after the heel marking was made. Both heel and 1 of 100 markings are done using the same process. I wonder if the person who did the stampings on the receivers just did them like this on a whim, but if so, would it have broken any rules at the time? The build dates on the receivers wouldn't help much, but identifying who was doing the stampings back in '80 or '81 would possibly clarify or at least offer an explanation to why they were done for a period, then dropped.

Thank you, Gentlemen. The lack of a casting pour lot number is consistent with for the 1980-81 time frame. The A series bolt is as well.
