I got bored.. So I took the original stock, prepped it for paint and camo'd it with krylon camo paint.. Looks like I found me a new Hobby. This is my 2nd paint job on a rifle. First one is the Airsoft L96 in the background on the last 2 pics. BTW: The action/barrel is currently mounted to a JAE-100 G1 stock. I just put this together for photos.. I won't be keeping this original stock =)

Enjoy!!!

It looks absolutely great, but I still don't think I would have the guts to paint over my receiver or a stock as expensive at that JAE. Looks amazing though.

I just finished this one. Started as a beat up GI stock, some sanding and spray paint did wonders.

Just picked up my SOCOM 16 last night.

Mounted on a Poly stock finished by Lakota Industries.

Here you can see the MULTICAM mark.

I'm thinking about picking up an extra stock to paint; should I go with a wood or synthetic stock? I'm assuming with a wood stock I would have to sand it 1st.

You should sand a wood stock first to get good adherence of the paint.

As to which one, I would strongly suggest you take your barreled receiver group and trigger mechanism and buy a stock that fits good and tight.
