My first line of home defense is a 590A1. But this M1A, named by M14Wannabe, (thanks) is my back-up gun for any possible serious stuff. I'll be trying it out on Whitetail next year now that I have it lightened up from its original inception as a SAI NM I bought in '93. I should note that I still have all the original parts if I want/need to convert it back.
It sports an A&G carbon fiber stock with a Limbsaver grind-to-fit recoil pad and a brass spacer I cut from a sheet. The paint is a sand textured finish for a sure grip which took a combo of colors to get the dark tint I wanted, to look like blood.
SEI USCG muzzle brake on a 18.5" Criterion barrel from Fulton Armory guided by a Burris Fastfire III. And finally, a Sadlak tactical mag release and spring guide.
Pretty cool looking mount you have there, how about showing us the other side. It appears to me the irons are still visible is this the case? What optic is that you are using?
I'm working on how to get my photos to show up clearer and full screen so I can show better detail. I got my patents so I will post photos of this mount which is specific to red dot/reflex sights, and my other mount which is for scopes and red dots.
Both of my mounts provide much better visibility of the irons and field of view than any mounts currently available.
