I think it's about time for me to get one as well. Ordering the adjustable glfs from Mr Wolfe next month. A vented guard will finish it perfectly.

The first M14 that the Army issued me in September of 64 had the Vented HG.
When I got to my Permanent Duty Assignment in Germany in 1965 the M14 that I was issued was a Winchester with a solid HG. I never forgot how cool the Vented HG looked, and now both of my LRB M14s are wearing them. Due to their fragile nature, I understand why they were replaced by a solid HG. Photo of me and my M14 after just coming from the Range after firing Prone in the Dirt hence the Dirty Uniform

Thanks from Old Sarge, RDS, nf1e and 12 others

Sweet! I love the vented handguards too, I have them on my M14 clones. I have solid ones laying around just in case I get the urge, just have never gotten the urge.

It would be great if someone would do a new run of vented ones. The cut outs could be molded in.

I remember seeing this picture somewhere while day dreaming about a real M-14. Must have been something to train with the legend...

Here's mine! I repaired a few cracks and painted it semi-gloss black. It still has the original silver paint inside. I also trimmed the bottom and back for clearance.

I need a better camera...
