Project finally finished.

Awhile I posted my second build of a M1A/M-14 platform to the forum. The build was done, but not finished. I was waiting for a stock. What stock... I did not know. I just know I wanted Walnut, and stripes, and USGI. After a long wait a stock appeared for sale in the PX from another forum member. When I saw it I knew it was what I was waiting on, so I gave it a home. I think I am going to call this one Tobacco. Her parts are as follows. USGI SA stock with KMT butt plate. USGI SA bolt, and op rod. LRB M14sa receiver. HRN trigger assy. USGI NM rear sight base knobs and non hooded aperture. USGI NM front sight. Barrel is a NOS NM Canadian Arsenal standard profile that I reamed to a headspace of 1.632. Small parts and spring are USGI. Sadlak NM piston and spring guide, USGI unitized gas cylinder. SAI lugged NM flash hider. This is she finally turned out... Sorry for the tons of pics, but I am man in love!!!!!!!

Here is the first post.
I am an addict!! built another one...

A few shots in the late day sun...

So here is how she did on the first trip to the range (and when I fell in love).

155 gr Sierra HPBT match king. Federal brass, 42.3 IMR 4895 at a 100 yds.
First Target sighting her in. Low to the right... Click left, then low center. Couple of clicks up, then hitting good four 5 shot groups.

Next target after sight in and after the torrential down pour had stopped.

Very happy with the way this one shoots, and think she likes that load. Should shoot better as the barrel breaks in!

Now that is one heck of a beautiful rifle! No need to be sorry. Show her off with honor. You deserve it!

Awards Showcase

You sir have a very fine rifle, one I would show off too! You took the time and spent the money to build a standout M14. I couldn't help to notice that fine rear sight with the C.P.P. windage knob, those are quite rare, nice find.

Ren

Thanks Ren, and thanks for that info. I actually got that knob the nm unhooded aperture the front NM sight from a guy on Ebay for $70.00. I think I did alright on that buy. Sometimes you can still find deals on Ebay.

Thanks
Brandon
