My new (used) Polytech in the works.

Here it is the day it arrived. It arrived with a crappy painted wood stock with a loose lock up.

Here it is after some TLC and a refinished USGI stock from freds I just stained with leather dye.

All I am looking for now is a Bayonet lugged flash hider to replace the wannabe flash hider and a stripper clip guide since it is missing. I have a want-to-by on this forum for these parts hopefully I can fulfill these needs soon. That was quick. The parts are already taken care of.

Thanks from tonyben and nf1e

She looks good! Nice work. We got my buddy's M14S into a GI stock a few weeks ago looks so much better.
I like that color dye might look good on an AK I have as well. (Sorry to swear talking AK and M14 at the same time).

This is the dye I used. I tried to get a aged linseed oil look. Which I think it pulled off nicely.

I also just shimmed it, greased all contact points, and did a little trigger work.

Its all good. I already got some buddies on the forum to supply me with my needed items.

The rifle also came with 4 of these "Law Enforcement only" 1996 CMI magazines.

And also a Extended SEI scope mount that I will be selling soon.

Check out Fulton arms for your wish list. Flash suppressor with bayonet lug http://www.fulton-armory.com/flashsuppressorfanm.aspx You'll need a castle nut wrench for the interchange. I didn't have to go that route since my Norinco M14S was pre Clinton 1989 import ban. For the stripper clip guide good luck. You really don't need it other than for looks. You're sling is an aftermarket one anyway dead give away. Nice work on the stock tho. I know the hard work involved.

Alright I have the flash hider with NM front sight on the way. The stock sight is pretty fat. Also I have a norinco stripper clip guide on the way as well. In the mean time I am going to get this baby cerakoted "armorer black". This rifle will be a great addition to my other m14 rifles, mostly as a 3-gun rifle and plinker. I cannot wait to see how accurate she is. I decided to wait till she is done till I go shoot. Lots of rain on the way all weekend.

Thanks from Eagle7840

Polytech

Here is my buddy's M14S in a USGI stock. He shot it yesterday after I disassembled , cleaned and lubed it then shimmed this stock a little to get a tight fit. Range report was A+.

Very nice rifle! I got my poly back in 92 and have enjoyed shooting and upgrading her. With the exception of the barrel, op rod guide lock and received she is all usgi with a couple of commercial parts. I am trying to buy a second poly that I want to build into a scout. The guy I have been talking too has offered me a good price but, I need to get it a little lower. Enjoy your rifle its a nice one.
