Awards Showcase

That IS a beautiful creature...

I don't think I have seen one quite like that before...

I have seen a number of 'albinos'...

Generally speaking(please don't think I want to Hunt It! )...

Where was that black deer located?

CAVman in WYoming

Kinda looks like a giant crazed chihuahua in that first pic... except for the hooves of course!

Really cool pics - thanks for sharing.

What are you shooting with in these pictures???

I use a Nikon D7000 and D300S. Mostly employ the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED. Color is too good to have been using a cheap camera.

My mom sent these to me via email. I think the deer was photographed near Ontario.

From the EXIF info on the picture it was a "NIKON D300"
If you are using Firefox you can use the Exif Viewer add-on to display interesting info about jpeg pictures. Especially of pictures taken with smart phones...i.e. GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken.

Thanks from CNelson

Central Texas has the most population of these deer in the entire world. They are known as Melanistic (Black) Whitetail Deer. Most are found around Travis and surrounding counties. Just a little fyi...
