Well 204 applicants counted here today for polar bear hunting tags ... I'm #55 ... 6 people chosen this morning for 6 tags have 48 hrs from midnite tonite to go find and get one at the same time ... so GOODLUCK to the hunters who got picked today. It's quite exciting and gets the whole community talking ... HAHA ... :D

p.s. last year i was #167 or something out of approx 200 and thought I'd never have a chance ... yet I got to go as nobody ahead of me caught ... so who knows this year ... ;)

Wow, I had no idea it was such a regulated and short season. Good luck!

Otokiak,

I'm new to the forum but I've got to say those hunting pictures are outstanding.

Can't wait to get my Norinco M14 in action later this fall.

Willie-Maker, the first 6 guys get to go for 48 hrs and if they don't catch/kill a polar bear they give in their tag and the next guy goes for 48 hrs and so on ... in reality with it being winter you have about 5 - 6 hrs per the two days to hunt.

Yellow Owl, where are you at in Canuckistan? Let's see your Norky ... post a pic!

Otokiak,

I'm in the Lower Mainland of B.C. I,ll post a pic of the Norc as soon as I get back from chasing mule deer.
The M14 is a new system for me but I can tell you that I've caught the bug. Already picked up a USGI stock, match grade spring guide, Brownells pro spring kit and I'm taking a serious look at Armacoat! This is an addiction!

The Scout draws blood

A great hunting trip with the Scout yesterday. Hard to beat the sound of new steel getting shot up.

The grouping was at 100 yards while zeroing the Irons with 175gr Gold Medal Match with Bipod and rear bag. 5 shot group. Theres a flier in there but at 100 yards im very happy with what im seeing.

Long time no posting for me due to being beyond busy with life and work. Well I went outland last weekend and did approx 150plus mile tour on my skidoo with 3 other lads and we caught 6 caribou, 2 muskox and 1 wolf. I personally only got a muskox as that's what I was out for. I shot my muskox with my Springfield M1A. Pics to follow tonite or tomorrow from a crappy cellphone as my digicam froze up. HAPPY HUNTING you fine folks,

A friend used a borrowed FN 17s to get this deer last year:

I was in the next valley over and it sounded like a .50 M2. Big boom! Think I'll stick with my "puny" .223. Deer go down immediately but without rupturing anyone's eardrums...
