Here goes one with me in it to prove I got him. I am 290lbs so I make him look smaller than he is. I roll my flags and hang there in the background at night and bad weather.

Got my new M1A standard 3 weeks ago. Christened it last week with its first buck. Fairly average 3 1/2 year old 8 point for West Texas, but it's going on the wall and the meat is in the freezer. Next one will be bigger!!

I took all three of my Texas whitetail with the M1A this year, and all with the iron sights, as I just didn't feel like putting the scope back on it after a rifle match the month before.

Yes, I know this isn't "hunting." There is very little "hunting" near the populated areas in Texas. It's difficult enough to find private property that gives you permission to set up a stand, and you place it where you have a safe field of fire among the very few to choose from.

Rest assured I get plenty of real hunting in Nevada. It takes me two weeks to get my mule deer each time I get lucky enough to draw a tag. Texas does fill the freezer, though.

Forgive the bag of ammo in a couple of the pics. I was using ammo supplied by the company that sponsors some of my shooting, so wanted him to see that.
