| basset machine mount
I am impressed, put this on today, with Pentax lightseeker 30 scope, weaver rings.Used the iron sights to "get the crosshairs on paper" the first 3 rds I fired were X's.I know when to quit,I went home for the day.Bassett is now using American made pins, entire product is mfg. in America, works for me.

Mine work fine. My longest range session was 80 rounds; the mount did not loosen.
Do take heed of the 22 in/lb bolt torque.

| went with the high mount
I went with the high picatinny. Took it out to the range last weekend and put 100 rounds down range. Didn't loosen one bit.
Next time out on the range I'll be testing to see how close it remounts, see if it's the 1/2 MOA they claim. But after it performed so well, I expect it to be all they claim it to be.
+1 on the All American product.

+1 - I have remounted several times and never had to re-zero. It's a first class piece of gear.

| 1 month old and 240 rounds
I also went with the high mount. I put 120 rounds on it with a Bushmaster scope and it did not loosen one bit (this thing is solid on there). I took it off and didn't return to the range for 3 weeks. I was careful to put it back on the same way I did the first time, that is, carefully screw it in making sure that it seats properly (very easy with this setup). I then put the cool little wrench on and gently lifted Babyface, I mean my M1a off the ground 3 or 4 inches. Whalla, back within 1/2 moa, and boy was I impressed. The mount seems to work as advertised, I wish I still did.

I also went with the high picatinny. I love it.
Only fired 40 rdns. but no problem. I wouldn't trade it for any mount out there.
Always hated to remove stripper clip guide and attach the mount in so many places.
Can't beat just one bolt.

I second the fact that it is top notch. Love mine and would get another, if I ever get another M1a.

I use the Pic Low, shot in a Police Olympics match last week, and it preformed flawlessly on my M1A SS, I can not say the same for my scope; it failed and cost me the match......but the mount, none better

I pretty much only use Leupold scopes now. Cheap scopes like Tasco, BSA and etc from Wally World=POS prone to fail.
I do have one off breed scope that came as a package deal on a Savage rifle new. I put a Leupold on the Savage .243 and the cheap scope on my 10/22.

If you have the little wrench with you (it doesn't take up much space!), then you can take the scope off at the range (even at the firing line), do the hokey-pokey, turn yourself around, and put the scope back on and shoot some more.
Doing it the same day means that you eliminate any variables like atmospheric conditions or disassembly/reassembly (if you're going to clean the rifle before you go back to the range), so that if it somehow did NOT zero again, then you could at least be sure it's the mount.
FWIW, I keep my scope/mount in a XL pistol rug, and they're not even mounted until I get the range. The Bassett wrench and a cleaning cloth and a #15 torx wrench (for rings) live in the same rug.
Yes, I'm a Bassett Kool-Aide-Drinker,

Me too on the Bassett.
I have taken the mount off and remounted probably more times than I should but it has never disappointed me.
The Bassett koolaid is good.

Has any one had experience with the BASSSET being mounted on a Patrol Rifle in a Patrol car rack? I use my M1A as mt primary Patrol Rifle and It rides in a vertical Rack in between the front seats. I winder how well it will keep zero after riding and bouncing around the back dirt roads I patrol....
