Primary Arms red dot

Not for my LRB M14SA, but for my Ruger SR556 bought one of their subject sights which is a copy of Aimpoints T1 version. PA has a deal on ones that have been refurbished and at very reasonable pricing and based on the one I just rec'd it appears as new condition. That thing is slick and comes with base that fits on the rail OK, but base is not high enough to co witness with the iron sights. Happen to have a riser from years ago and with that it is a perfect fit.
You can order an appropriate base which fits on the sight itself putting it in correct height, but my riser works fine. I doubt that it is of the quality of the Aimpoint and does not have that amazing battery life but claims to be good for 1000 hours and I am not so lazy to not turn it off when not using. If you are looking for a reasonably priced good red dot might want to check them out.

I just bought one of the Primary Arms red dots for an AR15. I got the "advanced micro dot" sight. Battery is a 2032 and is supposed to be good for up to 50,000 hrs. when set about the middle of the brightness range. We'll see how long it lasts.

I have bought several Lucid red dots in the past. Three or four of the larger ones that look sort of like a trijicon and one of the smaller ones. The thing I liked about them was they used a common AAA battery. Now, I'm finding out they go dead (batteries) just sitting in the corner with the sight turned off. We've picked up two different ARs, that have been setting for 5 or 6 months without being shot, and the batteries were dead in both of them.

This time we'll try the PA sight for awhile before buying more.
