Question Trying to figure out the best rings for my new baby

I just purchased a loaded M1A adjustable stock. I installed the Gen 4 Springfield scope mount. I also purchased some medium height quick release rings. I have finally today purchased a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44 FFP which is back ordered and will not arrive until August (super popular). So I installed the scope rings and lined my cheek piece to the height that I think would be in line with the scope installed, but for that to happen it seems like it is really high. would a set of low rings make that much of a difference? I am thinking I want a quick release system with thoughts that I could remove the scope if needed. I would also be interested in setting up for a few other hunting rifles since I spent a pretty penny for this scope.

Thanks for the input!

Leupold QRW or ARMS #22 will both work for you. The closer to the handguard you can get the bell of the scope, the better off you will be.

Rovobay when you do get this scope do you mind giving us a rundown on it? I've been internet stalking that model but with it being new there just isn't much info out there.

I will but it will be several months as they seem to be popular and it is on back-order and they are about 5 months out. ugh. but I figured I can wait. I am really stoked because the first generation model was so popular I figured I couldn't go wrong. well, i could go wrong, but hope i am not....

Thanks from spsosicmcise

Medium rings are pretty common. I have s set of leupold mk4 mediums and arms #22 medium that work great. Otherwise badger and night force rings are good to go too.

I haven't tried a lot of scope rings, by I got some ARMS, I think they're low, but they've been good.

I originally tried some made by Vortex, but the darn things didn't mount correctly to the rail. Looked up the rail specs, and measured them, and the rail was right, the Vortex were off.

I agree with Art, keep the scope as low as you can, and you can't go wrong with the Leupold QRW rings.

I just ordered the Leuplod QRW rings. I like the ultra low LeRue but don't want to spend $210! Thanks for the help guys
