Searching for Redfield AR 3X9X40 & mount

Got a friend who is searching for a Redfield AR 3X9X40, plus mount, sniper scope Viet Nam era. I can't remember the scope mount name. Memory isn't what it used to be. He also asked, about fixed 10 power Untertl. Has M1E2, walnut stock, he bought from Fred, couple years back. Wants evrything original.

Those are a tough find and usually quite pricey. Leatherwood did the mounts.

Thanks from yoteman

So, are we talking about the scope for an M40, or the M14?

WaM14gunner, money this fellow has, when he gets in those moods, I want, he buys. Nice person, just has the cash to buy what he thinks he wants. Has let me in on couple of his deals, and payed him off in payments

Harleystoo, M 14, has s E2 stock, pre band receiver, barrel, etc. I sold him my 1 of my E2 slings, I bought from Fred's and extra original bipod, I bought off this site. Was setting on it thinking about building another 14. But as I stated has helped me out several times, on some deals he could afford and let me, afford them. Last 1 was a high end AR 10 from Black Dawn, excellent, accurate shooting rifle. He never served, respects, goes out of his way to help vets. Wants to put rifle on display, in his trophy room

Good read on M14 scope mounts from Lee.

Leatherwood did not make any of the ART I (ARTEL) scopes or mounts. The ART II (post Vietnam) was a different story.

Best option would be to find a vintage Accurange and send it out to have it cleaned/converted. Did that with 2 vintage scopes and they came out great. This is also a nice scope with similar features to the original but with better glass (I have one of these as well):
