looks like something new is in the pipeline from USO

This is a discussion on looks like something new is in the pipeline from USO within the Optics forums, part of the Gun Forum category; production on current model scopes is limited due to new product launch. It will be interesting to see what they will be offering...

Do you have any insider information? An internet search for "New US Optics scope" turned up nothing.
I have a friend that knows the owner, I guess I should have him ask but I wanted to see if you know anything first.

There's a thread on snipers hide on it.

No inside info. I am just obsessing between the USO ST-10 and the SWFA SS 10x42 HD. I go back and forth between the product pages. Recently, I noticed that the USO product page for the ST-10 says that current custom production is being scaled back due to new product development.

Thanks from m14brian

So the fixed power ST10 is no longer on the site and the MR10 has been replaced by the new Bravo. The Bravo has the EREK knobs standard and the tube size has increased from 30 to 34 mm. The objective has also increased from 37 to 42 mm. Total elevation has increased as well, from 100 to 165 MOA. All in all, improvements across the board but the price has dropped from $2300 to $1600. Ok. What's the catch? I am not accustomed to seeing a product get significant upgrades from one year to the next with the price dropping by 30%

I have used both and I can say that both are solid optics.
Both have better glass than Leupold MK4 ...IMO. I own Leupold's , I'm not bashing them fellas...don't get butthurt.

The price point on the SWFA is better than the ST-10.
The top turret on the ST-10 is large and more streamlined.
The elevation turret on the SWFA was better for me because I have large hands.
Both Track swimmingly.
I like the reticle on the SWFA a bit better.
I ST-10 has an illuminated reticle. The SWFA does not.

Basically it boils down to how much loot you wanna drop.

My next scope will be a Nightforce ATACR F1 or an IOR Valdada 3x18x42 FFP

Just a guess, but it sounds like they may be mainstreaming production while eliminating some of the custom options. I don't like the EREK knob, I had a smaller one put up top on my LR-17, and when I was shopping for my 2nd scope I didn't see the smaller one as an option anymore, so I went with a different company. I dislike the EREK that much, and the cool think about USO is the custom building. I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the end of the world, but at least the couple times I looked on their site, an option or two wasn't there anymore, or something glitched and didn't show up in the dropdown menus when I was looking.
