It is the only mount I use. It is lowest available. With most scopes I do not need a riser on the buttstock.

It's rare, but on some rifles it can cause ejection issues with the empty case getting caught in the breech.

Ok thank you I am looking for the right scope mount I'm getting a vortex razor hd with 35mm tube and I'm thinking of going for a quick detach setup so I can use iron sights with ease thanks to a fellow member recommending the idea. I really want to have my scope and incase anything happens I can use my iron sights with ease.

I love the ARMS system and recommend them with ^^^^ KurtC's^^^^ caveat.
I haven't had any problems with mine, it works great. Just be aware it has happened to some..

AFAIK ARMS #22QD rings are available in 30mm & 34 mm rings .
I have the 30mm mediums with a 4x16x50mm scope, it's about as low as you can go comfortably with.
You might get a 54mm obj with the mediums but the eyepiece diameter and rear sight clearance will be the limiting factor .
With a 54mm obj and medium 22's your front sight will be visible thru the scope.

It is a good mount...IF everything on your rifle is in spec and receiver and barrel alighns properly. Which mine doesn't.

My SAI receiver was made April of 1992, put an ARMS # 18 mount on in 2001. Use a torque wrench and blue locktite. Have never looked back!

I run a ARMS #18 mount and low #22 quick detach 30mm rings on my Scout with a Leupold MK4 1.5 x 5 scope and never had an issue.

Does the ARMS mount place the scope in line with the bore, or is it off to one side?

Seems I read that somewhere...

I have it, I had to modify the dove tail with a file so it would sit proper on the receiver. Took me about 2 hours with a couple files to get it to sit square, but it was worth every second, sits very low. I can use my irons without the scope installed.

If you go with the split ARMS 18 like this you won't have any ejection issues.

Here is one on an early Bush rifle. It looks like it is a part of the receiver.

That is only the third split rail with the stripper clip guide that I have seen. And I have 1 of the three.
