FedEx delivered my three units over two weeks ago (two weeks ago LAST Thursday)and no word or even acknowledgement that they have received them...much less anything about the check being issued yet.

I've tried to call...no way to actually talk to ANYBODY. They won't answer. Sent an e-mail to a customer service address...NOTHING...NADA...ZIP. Complete radio silence so far.

Bottom line folks...they ain't talking or saying/committing to anything about a time frame for the refund to even hit the mail.

I expected much more from these people regarding at least some sort of response. Color me disappointed so far and getting a bit pissed with each passing day of no communication.

I don't understand the folks that aren't sending them in for a refund because it prevents them participating in any future class action lawsuits.

1. The class action is likely to award pennies on the dollar.....that is, you'll more than likely get more money, quicker, by getting a refund

2. More than likely, they were not “personally injured” by this defect

Why do some folks expect to get any more back than their investment? If you are unsatisfied or disillusioned with the product, and Eotech is offering a full MSRP + shipping refund (when very few folks even paid full MSRP), then take them up on the offer. If I owned an Eotech, I'd be very happy with that response from L3.

It's gonna take a while to process the refunds. Returned Eotechs are flooding in, overwhelming the post office in that region. Every Eotech has to be hand inspected to certify it is in fact an Eotech and not a knock-off. All of this takes time.

For the folks that aren't sending them back because they wanna keep and use them, that I can understand. I don't agree, but I understand.

I finally threw my hat in the refund ring last week and sent in 2 of 3 Eotechs I owned; kept my 512 that's never given me a problem. I really like how easy they are to use, but I want them to be reliable. Even though I have not gotten a check back, I replaced one of them with a Trijicon MRO. Yes it seems to have a slight bit of "magnification", but I doubt it will affect performance on the range and I really like where the controls are and how they work. I have not had it out yet thought. Plan on getting an aimpoint T2 when my check shows up. Hoping it's not more than a few months away.

Update today from Soldier Systems

"We’ve received similar reports from multiple sources so we feel comfortable sharing this info regarding refunds for EOTech Holographic Weapon Sights.

The refunds will be in the form of a check, processing has been outsourced due to so many returns, and the checks will be sent out within the next two weeks. Also, there should be a phone number to deal specifically with return issues. Once we have it, we’ll share it. "

I've got no update on mine. They did send me an email in January that they had received my HWS.

EOTech has been very prompt with communication in my experience. Try shooting them an email. I received a response from them in less than 24 hours when inquiring about my return.

Received my refund today for the full purchase price + shipping---Ya gotta love a company that warrantees their product and actually backs their warrantee. I will do business with them again.

There actually not to far away from me in Ann Arbor but that's neither here or there.

The problem I have with them L3, is that they did not disclose the problem with those sights. It wasn't until it was discovered and made public that they decided to come clean. That doesn't reflect very well on their business.

I will confess I never liked their products anyhow but the whole scandal will likely keep me from buying their products in the future.

On a side note, I'm pleased that my department (I mentioned the recall a lot) sent them all back for a refund and will now be buying Leupold VXR 1-4 scopes. which is a huge improvement.

Seems like the take-away from this ought to be use iron sights.

No thermal drift, no gas to leak out/fog up, no parallax errors. No wiring, no glass, no lenses and mirrors. No batteries.

In short, iron sights are simple and reliable.

Same here, received my check yesterday Friday. It was received by EOTech on Jan 18th so it took
2 months to the day.

I really liked that sight, I wish they come out with good working units that I won't want
to return...

Unless this happens.

The rifle is a LMT (.556) with their fixed sights and the rifle was transported in a gun case (padded) between a locker, car and range for a few years. It was probably dropped a few times in the case but it was not intentionally abused.

This might be a one off but I have seen more iron sights break then optics. I'm not convinced that iron sights are more durable.
