I decided to return my EXPS 3-0 for a full refund, I will post when I get my refund from EOTech. I have a new Trijicon MRO coming in the mail to replace it. While I loved the my EOTech and its reticle, for what I paid I expect it to do what its advertised. Trijicon is known for their quality so I shouldn't have to worry about the MRO. A 50,000 hour battery life is also a plus.

I guess I am the only one keeping theirs? While I haven't exposed mine to the temperatures that they shift at, I doubt I ever will. I really don't like the single dot of the aimpoints. I bought mine reasonably and love the 2 512's I have. I can always check zero with my irons.

It's not just thermal shift. The optic is advertised as 0 parallax, and it isn't.

In a nutshell, what does that mean exactly?

If it doesn't have parallax, then you don't need to worry about having the same proper cheek weld each time. You can hold the rifle over your head or around a corner as long as you can see the red dot, you are on target.

If it has some parallax, then you need proper cheek weld for an accurate place shot, just like a scope.

I had ordered one through their trainer program, about half price one day before the information hit the news. I rescinded the order.

My department s keeping the 50 or so ones we have since additional testing by Homeland Security provided more information.

But, a company who hides known defects (which may or may not be acceptable to the buyer) is not a company with which I will do business. I'm looking at a Trijicon or Aimpoint PRO.

Thanks from bomberbill

Thanks, problem is I still can't think of an optic I would like as much.

Eotech also has long term well-known problems with battery contacts and batteries corroding while in the optic. If you have decided to keep yours, it should last a lot longer if you remove the batteries when it's not in use.

Wow, a lot of this makes sense of some issues I was having with mine. I have a 551 that I had been using for many years. I would have zero problems when I first took it out. It was intermittent and I couldn't figure out what was up, so I actually replaced it with a PRO. Looking back, I guarantee it was being affected by temperature shift. It would be nice to get purchase price for that thing.. I wonder if they will hassle me since it is no longer made...?

I recommend for anyone to at least try to return them. Doesn't make a lot of sense to keep them.

I would love one, but doesn't really work with my DDM4V1 fixed irons, which I won't get rid of.
