I buy kit that I expect to last me a long, long time. If they are having issues now, what kind of longevity can I expect on down the road?

Not to sound like some kinda Mad Max Road Warrior/The Walking Dead/Red Dawn junkie, but I don't know what kind of conditions my kit may be exposed to years from now.

I don't want kit that is "good enough". I want stuff that's gonna last like an anvil and that doesn't care what kinda abuse me or the other guy throw at it.

I train a few thousand folks a year, so I see all types. I see the "Awww, this is good enough for me" folks all the time, and I don't have a problem with them at all, but I refuse to be one of them.

I can totally understand with purchasing a piece of kit because it's all you can afford. I was that guy for a long time. But, you can get an Aimpoint for the same price as an Eotech. So why not buy the Aimpoint? Eotech is offering to issue a refund for your Eotech? Why not take the refund, and upgrade to an Aimpoint? It's a no-brained for me.

I'm not gonna get killed or beat because my "good enough" kit failed me at a crucial moment.

Thanks from bomberbill

Doesn't even have to be Georgia, or summer. Cars get hot enough to kill living things when closed up:

Awe so this is why its getting hard to find Aimpoint pros

Optic planet has a waiting period of 3-4 weeks before they get more in.

That is exactly what happened to my 552 and EOT noted that they repaired the battery contacts when it went back to them in 2006 for warranty repair.

I don't see any information on their site about how to go about returning my XPS 2 for a refund. Can anyone direct me?

I'm an EOTech fanboi having owned a succession of their sights from a 512 through the XPS series. I have older eyes and really appreciated the circle/dot, it was easier for me to pickup over the Aimpoint, which I've also owned.

I sent my sight back for a refund, the thermal issue seems to cross too many ranges and when combined with the faulty seals, I just can't be certain the tool will work correctly when I need it most.

FWIW - I received my RMA in one day and my sight has been received by EOTech. I've read a post on another forum saying they are receiving thousands of return requests daily, but are working through them as quickly as possible.

I sent in for the rma authorization and it came back the same day. BUT, after asking about the type of payment, i.e. check or store credit, they have been elusive.

This guy talks about it at the 3:28 mark

This link will provide info that might be of use.

They're not going to issue store credit. EOTech stated that they would be issuing refunds. You can't issue a refund to a different business (or individual) in the form of store credit.

The purpose of the rumor of store credit is almost certainly a move by the interested parties in the lawsuit you linked to avoid people sending in their EOTechs and getting a full refund as a check.

It's kind of hard to pursue a lawsuit when the company you're suing is giving you a full MSRP refund for a product.

EDIT: EOTech is issuing a generic response to any inquiry about if/how they are going to issue refunds, probably because they're getting thousands of inquiries and don't have the manpower to process the returns and answer questions all day. That's not being "Elusive"

Further EDIT: THat "certificate" has been proven to be photoshop.

Also, the initial word about refunds was January, probably for accounting purposes.

Whatever the case may be, there has been no positive confirmation on form of payment. All this is just food for thought.
