I am mounting a Leupold Mark 4 10x40mm LR/T M3 model 47638 30mm tube.
I am using a ARMS 18 ,Will Badger low .823 rings let the scope clear the rear sight.
or do I need higher rings?
If not, I'm not sure. I had a NF compact on a ARMs 18 and a hooded rear sight, and I needed .92 rings to clear. I think the standard rear allows a good bit more clearance though.
Hang on, have you tried using the ring height calculator NoExpert made?
What's the height on your rifle from the top of the picatinny rail to the hand guard, what's the height from the top of the rail to the top of the hooded aperture?
I dont have the Arms 18 .So I cant tell you. I just bought it.Trying to figure out
what ring height.I figured someone has mounted a Leupold on a Arms 18.
They will be too short. You need .925 or there abouts. Here is an arms 18 mount with a mark 4 using .925 arms 22 low rings. See how close it is. .823 will not work.
I can remove the rear sight .That will give me the clearance.
