I have M1A std with a Bassett low mount and a Vortex Viper 4-12X40 scope. I was hoping to get some low mount rings but not sure what I need. Any thoughts on those who have this or a similar setup.

I don't have that scope but I have the 3 of the same Bassett Low Mounts [all of mine are the Picatinny Version] - I have used the following on all of them with good success!! I know a lot of options exist, but these mounts hold very well and I like the tactical look too.

Oh - they have three heights as well - I use the medium height for the 40MM.

Not plugging the vendor - just know they carry the Weaver Tactical Rings.

I think I'm using the same rings as M1Army....

Heres the link for Amazon....

Thats a Bassett Low Pic mount & Vortex PST 2.5-10 w/ 44mm Bell out front. Even tho it looks close, theres at least 1/8 inch clearance between the rear peep & the scope.

No complaints so far.

Do those 6 screw Weaver rings come with the cross bolts designed for a pic rail or a Weaver mount?? Assuming pic since that is what you guys have them on. Thanks
Never mind. See that Weaver calls the Pic rings Pic Tactical.
What height would you use for a 42 mm bell - low ,med or high. I know, probably depends on which mount, right?
Thanks

i think warne maxima are THE best cheaper rings. they are steel and install like larue mounts (tighten bottom bolts all the way tjem somply snug the top bolts).

orher than that i like badger and nightforce

i do not like leupold rings but others seem to.

i have a set of burris extreme they are alluminum and shoot loose
