I have a friend who is a Marine rifleman who chose the Premier Reticles 1.1-8x24 for his M1A.

You may want to check out the nightforce 1x4x24 or 2.5x10x32, they are both compacts as well.

The US Optics looks nice.

Apparently i'm not the only one looking into these!!! ontop of being expensive some of them like the premier 1.1x8 seem to be hard to find, they aren't even currently listed on the premier website except in the tech support section but word is they can be had special order.
That burris MTAC Riflescope 1.5X-6X-40mm for 400$ is definitely worth another look for a different project but to top off the scout squad I'm really in the market for an 1-8 or 1-10 power with that being said having a true 1x on the low end isn't absolutely critical because I've shot at targets as close as 4 yards away with a 3x9, Its by no means ideal but it can be done.
That Horus vision Blackird 2 fits the criteria and its one I haven't ran across yet so I've added it to my CQB scope bookmark folder. Great find Middkid as for the 4x and 6x that were mentioned they are all wonderful optics but i'm trying to go towards at least double the magnification of the 4x.
Any other 1x8's or 1x10's?

So are you not planning on a "scout mount" on your scout rifle? I'm seeing that many of these optics are sub 4" eye-relief.

I am in the same boat. Ordered Bushy 1-4 illuminated for a 12ga slugger, waiting for delivery. That's all I could afford. Hoping it won't put me down.
As to Leup CQ-T I own one, but am not too happy. It would work fine on an AR flattop or similar platform, but it would be to tall and heavy for any other kind of mount/firearm. Ended up never using it and going to sell soon. |

Look at the weaver tactical line if you look at night force. they do a good job of being true 1x
i would not get a 1.8x , it sort of defeats the purpose.

And Dresden I'm going to look at the weaver line right now! and I agree, going with a 1.8 is a another compromise thats hard to make when we are talking about the $1000 or less - $3,000 bracket of optics
The 1-5 x 24 weaver is nice but I'd really like more magnification like a 1-8x or a 1-10x otherwise their isn't much reason to not stay with the Vortex PST on the gen III Springfield mount. I really can't justify spending that kind of money and not make the leap up to an 1-8 or 1-10 range.

Ahh, gotcha.
Some spiffy bits on that list.....I'm going with the fwd mount on mine, but just the same, I'm looking forward to hearing what you select and how it works.
