You can see how it sits nice and high so you can still use your iron sights.

It looks like a SAI mount.

maybe I joined the forum a few days too late... was on S.A.'s website to drool over my second M1A wish list and saw their 4th gen steel mounts were $80 off so I bought it to try out. Seems like every mount has very mixed reviews...

looks like the Bassett would have been a better choice. No worries, when I get the second one, I can justify having both mounts!

+4 Bassett

Got a couple of standard Bassetts (can still use the irons) good stuff, although it got awkward when trying to establish a good cheek-weld and maintain eye-relief/alignment. As I refused to drill holes in my stock for a solid adjustable cheek riser, I went with the canvas, padded risers, laces and straps, several different models, but still looking for the right set up.

Bassett.....got the high picany rail with low rings an scope sets just above the rear sights by about 1/8 in. Can use irons no problem....best of both worlds. In fact with this set up, the scope sets lower than most I've seen with the low mount.
