IMO get the BDC only if you do not want to adjust your scope any for different ranges. You can use the spot on program to get accurate distances for your different BDC markings and tape put them in a notebook or tape them to your stock or something. All you need to do is to chrono your particular load through your gun. I prefer to stick with the Niko-plex, standard type reticle. With it you can order custom currents marked for you gun and load. I absolutely love the M223 scope on my AR (which is same as a Monarch) and will be moving to Monarchs with custom turrets on more of my guns. With custom turrets and a range finder the only thing left to chance is the wind and your shooting skills.

Thanks Ex., you are right on, or should I say, Spot On? Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself! I do like the BDC Scopes for hunting. I range a number of different landmarks so I'll know what circle to use if I get the opportunity for a shot. I also do this when using the M-223 Rapid Action Turret Scope for coyote hunting.

If you are turning turret's on a Nikoplex Reticle Spot On can do adjustment's for wind speed to make it easy on you, then with the return to zero you can get back to where you started.

I haven't ordered a Custom Turret yet but I did chrono. some ammo so a friend could order 2. Hopefully in the next few months I'll get an opportunity to shoot the rifles and let you know how they work.
