| Compact Scope
Hi. I've have pretty much decided to use to put a scope on M1A due to tired old eyes. I will be using the Bassett mount, but haven't decided on the scope. Most of my bolt rifles have Burris scopes with the exception of my varmint rifle.
Because of a back injury I can't carry anything for any length of time that is on the heavy side which the M1A is. All of my shooting now days is from the sitting position or the prone position. I can shoot my Ruger 10/22 from the standing position but even that gets to be to much after about 10 minutes or so.
I'm thinking of a compact scope but have no idea as to which I should buy. The cost will have to be under $200.00 because of the fixed income situation. I have looked at some at “Cheaper than Dirt” and the prices on them scared me off. They were less than $100.00. I can't see getting anything of any quality for a price that low.
I'm not a target shooter so I don't need anything for tack driving accuracy. Practical accuracy out to 300 meters is fine with me. If the rifle itself is capable of keeping at least 3 shots inside 2 inches at 100 meters is fine with me.
Any ideas you might have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch...Don
