| A good scout setup?
Hello guys, I'm a long time lurker but this might be my first post to the forum.
I live in suburban New Jersey in a nice neighborhood and I purchased an M1A Scout Squad about 2 years ago primarily for recreational use at my gun club but also as a "SHTF" weapon. I would have preferred an AR variant, but this being New Jersey we are somewhat limited under the NJ Assault Weapons Ban on AR builds so I went with an M1A Scout (which is NJ legal).
Anyhow, I have being using iron sights since I bought it but I want to put a nice red dot on it now. My brother is a state trooper in Idaho and he has a Aimpoint Comp ML3 that I liked.
In order to mount the Aimpoint Comp ML3 on the factory forward mount will a Leopold quick release weaver style scope ring (30 mm) work?
In addition to plinking and SHTF duty, my brother invited me to go Wolf hunting in Idaho with him this May. I'm probably going to take my M1A Scout.
What do you guys think of this setup? Are those the right rings for the Aimpoint?
