| Rings vs Picatinny
After many years of shooting a M1A, I have finally decided to add a scope. I have decided to go with a Bassett mount. I like that the Bassett is so easily removed and you can use the iron sights with the rail in place. (I have not yet decided which scope to use). Bassett makes mounts that use rings, and mounts that use a Picatinny Rail. Being new to shooting with a scope, why would I select one type of rail over the other (Rings vs. Picatinny)? Thanks.
