Does anyone have any experience with these. I need a scope for my .50BMG. Everyone I talk to says Nightforce. Figured I would ask you guys.

Be careful with the 12-42x56. It only has 45moa elevation. If you're planning on shooting > 1500 yards it may be difficult. But then, I have no experience with the BMG.

The 8-32x56 has 65moa travel, but better still is the 5-222x56 which has 100moa.

Just got this reply to the same question I posted over on AR-15.com.

"I have the 5.5 - 22 x 56 on my M99. The higher power Nightforce scopes are wonderful, I have a 8-32 x56 on my TRG-22. The problem with the 32 and 42 power is they don't have enough internal elevation for a 50. As an example the 5.5-22 has 100 moa adjustment. with the 27 moa rail on my M99 that gives me 77moa up adjustment. With an A-Max at 2750fps that gives you 2100 yards before you run out of scope. With the 8-32x56 you have 65 moa adjustment on my 27 moa rail that gives 59.5 up or 1800 yards. The calculations with more affordable M33 projectiles are 1700 yards with the 5.5-22 and 1500 yards with the 8-32. Also the mirage can get wicked at the higher powers and you end up turning the power down on the scope anyway. Jack"

While I find, IMHO, that a 5.5-22 is to much for an M1A/M14. I do notice that all the the 1000yd shooters have Night force scopes on there rifles. There rifles start at 338's to 50 cal and the Night force scopes they use all hold up well. Me personally, I have one of there smaller scopes on an M1A/M14 type rifle, the 2.5-10x32. Other than it being a second focal plane scope it is a winner for the M1A/M14 type rifle. For a 50 cal I wouldn't worry about a Night force scope on top because I know it can handle the recoil from such a heavy hitter.

There was one for sale in the PX, not sure if it is still available. I would have taken a shot at it but I really want the MLR-2 reticle.

However it does not have the front focal plane that I have come to really like. I would opt for the 56mm objective.
If the 3.5x15 works out, I may just wind up getting two of them however I do like having the extra power.
Right now I have a Leupold ER/T MK4 8.5x25x50 FFP. It is a great scope and in the same price range. They retail for approx $300 less than the first NF listed. A couple of thing I am not to fond of with the leupold. the one I bought mine a couple of years ago and at the time all they were offering in the target dial was the M1 turrets. These are set up in 1/4 moa and as you may have guessed the reticle's are in mils. I think it was last year they came out with the M5 target turrets which are in mils. All three of these scopes have plenty of elevation and windage available. The other high power scopes you had listed were for real flat trajectory rifles like bench rest rifles.
I have another 18.5 inch rifle with another M25 receiver that I plan on using the same one that valken uses the 2.5x10x32. With the smaller objective, I think it will fit the 18.5 inch rifle in a folding stock just right.

Although this reticle is busy......once you get used to it and intimate with it........it works awesome. This is what I use on my 20" Rogue. I love it. The circles represents 9" or the size of some one's head........the step to the base line is 18" or the distance between collar bone and belt line. Very fast ranging.

That scope looks to be more of a bench rest rifle scope for a rifle that has a flat trajectory. I would go with one that has more of an adjustable range
